Description
Osetra caviar from Azerbaijan — Acipenser gueldenstaedtii
Osetra caviar is the roe of the Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii), raised on a certified sturgeon farm in Azerbaijan and prepared to the Malossol standard — lightly salted, nothing masked. Halal certified and supplied under CITES, it comes in three sizes — 30g, 50g and 125g.
The character of Osetra caviar
Among caviar specialists, Osetra holds a place of its own. Where Beluga impresses with its size and intensity, Osetra captivates with its complexity: distinctly nutty and buttery, with a clean briny finish. The medium-sized roe ranges from golden-brown to dark, with a firm yet yielding texture and a flavour that develops beautifully on the palate.
Three sizes: 30g, 50g and 125g
- 30g — serves 1–2. A personal indulgence, or an elegant addition to a larger spread.
- 50g — serves 2–3. An evening for two: a generous first course or an aperitif moment.
- 125g — serves 4–6. The hosting tin: guests serve freely, without rationing.
How to serve Osetra caviar
Chill the tin and open it just before serving, ideally on a bed of crushed ice. Use a mother-of-pearl caviar spoon — metal alters the taste. Enjoy Osetra on its own, or with warm blinis, crème fraîche and finely chopped chives. A well-chilled Chablis, Blanc de Blancs Champagne or premium vodka are the classic companions.
Halal and CITES certified
Our Osetra caviar from Azerbaijan is Halal certified in all three sizes, and it is supplied with documentation under CITES, the international convention that governs the trade in sturgeon caviar.
Storage and delivery
Keep refrigerated at -2 to +2 °C and enjoy within 1–3 days of opening. Unopened, follow the best-before date printed on each tin. Every order is delivered free across Singapore, 24/7, in a thermal bag with ice packs.
Osetra caviar — your questions
Is your Osetra caviar Halal?
Yes. Our Osetra caviar from Azerbaijan is Halal certified in every size — 30g, 50g and 125g.
How is Osetra different from Beluga?
Both come from Azerbaijan and are Halal certified. Beluga (Huso huso) is prized for its large, buttery pearls; Osetra (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii) for its nutty, complex character.
How much Osetra caviar per guest?
As a guide, allow about 25–30g per guest when caviar is served on its own, and less when it accompanies canapés.
